Brief description
Coldwater shrimp (Pandalus borealis) – prawns are predominantly found in the Pacific, Atlantic Oceans. As the males, they grow to 120 mm in length, and become females “gather additionally” even 40-45 mm, and lives at depths of 20–1,330 m. Coldwater shrimp are one of the most important commercial species of shrimp in the world. The main producer countries of “Pandalus borealis” are Norway, Greenland, Iceland and USA. Annual catch for coldwater shrimp in Northern Atlantic has accounted for 200-300 mln tonnes.
